The first intake of students from the Ten out of Ten management training initiative has graduated at a celebratory event at Lucknam Park hotel, near Bath.
The students were joined by many of the general managers from the participating properties, including Sue Williams of Cliveden (who started the programme program whilst general manager at the Bath Priory), Philip Newman-Hall from Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons, Claire Randall of Lucknam Park, Andrew Stembridge of Chewton Glen and Cliveden, Mark Chambers of the Eden Hotel Collection, Sarah Baker of Mallory Court, Richard Ball and Paul Sadler of Calcot Manor and Tony Baker of The Fat Duck.
After taking part in a bake off event at Lucknam Park’s new Cookery School, the graduates enjoyed a Champagne reception and dinner created by the hotel’s executive chef Hywel Jones.
Chairman of Lucknam Park, Harry Murray – newly honoured by the AA with a Lifetime Achievement Award – presented the students with their graduation certificates.
The students on the Ten our of Ten programme undertook five month placements at five of the participating properties to experience every aspect of operational management within the luxury hotel sector. They have now gone on to take up management roles within the hospitality industry.
The Ten out of Ten programme has just begun its third year with a new intake of students starting last month.
