    Cranky - The Book Curmudgeon

**** 4.5 Cranky Stars ****I give 4.5 stars for this second book in the series. While still containing the same good and bad guys, it was a look at one of the other members of this mysterious sect sworn to saving humans from evil called the Fallen. It was a darker tale and in a way more believable than the first book. In this continuing story of good versus evil, we meet Kate, a Follower, a.k.a human and we do get a bit more about their secret world. The author moves from Lucus, a very well dress [...]

Book 2 of the series, also given to me by the author, had strengthened my view of the series. The Behn are back with Lucas being the main character of the story. Although I was told that this can be read as a standalone, I can safely say that it is almost true. Almost being the character's relationships are set in book one, and spilled through to book two. So even though it can be read as a standalone, the experience is better if you follow the sequence. Lucas is a Behn who can read minds, durin [...]

Well hello Lucas! He is what some would call your typical bad boy I however think he's a little more complex and deep down just wants to be loved. As this story deepens from Fallen Redemption and the Trihune is given a task and sent on a search that may leave them empty handed. Lucas is sent to search for the key though he has no idea where to begin nor what the key looks like he takes to his task at hand. Kate a young woman down on her luck left lost and alone. Meeting anyone is the last thing [...]

Fallen Darkness (The Trihune Series Book 2)I received a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.Warning: Do not read this novel unless you want to be completely hooked! I loved, loved, loved this novel. R.B. Austin has created a world of warriors rivaling those of Gena Showalter and J.R. Ward. If you, like me, devoured the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and the Lords of the Underworld series, you will not be disappointed with the Trihune series. From page one, I was consumed by the [...]

This was a really well written book of a man who is centuries old finding the one women who knows exactly what he goes through on a daily basis, because she goes through a version of it herself. Kate has been delt a lot of hard blows such as being put into foster care with horrendous people, having an ability that makes it so she can't be touched by anything on any spot of her body, and losing her innocence. Lucas is a man who can feel everyones emotions around him and when he finally thinks he [...]

Fallen Darkness was an okay read for me. I enjoy paranormal reads but this one was a little too slow for me which was odd because the story had a lot going on. There were a few things that annoyed me while reading this story. The author list words and its meaning that are used throughout the story in the beginning of the book as reference. However, while reading the book on my kindle, if I forgot exactly what a word was I'd have to go back to the beginning of the book or guess what the word mean [...]

I admit it, I didn't read the first book in this series. But, that doesn't change anything for me at all. I really liked this book. The paranormal aspect was fantastic and I loved the characters. It is very explicit sexually so be aware. This series hints at Laurel K. Hamilton for me and I love her work. So, great job. I cannot wait to read more.

4.5/5.0Lucas is one of those characters a reader can’t help but feel for despite his determination to destroy himself. Read full review in the 2016 May issue of InD'tale Magazine.
