BOOK REVIEW PER KMJ BOOK REVEALSHey ya'll,So I had the awesome opportunity to review the novel, Forever Since an Apple by Ken Welsch and it was such a fantastic story! So I have read my fair share of books and this novel by far has been one of the greatest reads that I have ever picked up! What I really loved about this novel is that I felt like I was actually talking to the main character Daniel. Only a handful of books have made me feel this way including the novels, A Separate Peace by John Kn [...]
I really enjoyed this one. I didn't quite know what to expect but the cover and title intrigued me. Daniel is a photographer for a college newspaper and his friend Eb is a reporter for the newspaper. Immediately you see what a strong friendship they have, but you can also see they will probably go in different directions with their lives. Daniel and Eb go to Chicago to cover a reality show and that begins everything. I didn't want to put the book down because I had to know what was going to happ [...]
FOREVER SINCE AN APPLE is the story of a decision reached organically by the hero, Daniel, concerning his future in Wanishing, Michigan. It's fascinating to watch his interaction with several close friends, Eb, Jim, and especially Sidney. He comes to know exactly what is necessary and most authentic for him simply by helping and responding to those around him. The story has a very spontaneous edge to it that makes most of the scenes resonate. My only caveat is the story is somewhat understated. T [...]
This is yet another book I have conflicting feelings about. It's not confusing in itself - in fact, it's quite the opposite. The book is written in a straightforward narrative, and you don't need to think much about the text because it's more or less laid out for you. You can more or less imagine the protagonist (a supposedly not-so-typical guy) going through those motions/ experiences and every thought that runs through his head. That's not necessarily a bad thing, if you like your books like t [...]
Every once in a while, I like to read something different than my usual romances, and in Forever Since an Apple, I found a great, highly interesting read. And in Daniel, Sidney and Eb a likeable group of friends in witch I would love to belong to.The world of reality shows, newspapers and photographers was interesting to read about, and Daniel was a likeable, easy to relate to main character. His journey felt real and captivating. The writing style was really good, and I saw that the writer studi [...]
Wow, wow wow. I was not expecting to like this. I thought this would be a book I could say I read to pass time or reach my book goal. I wasn't expecting it to stick with me.So this story follows Daniel, who experiences lots of challenges in his young life. I feel like this is perfect new adult because it perfectly captures the essence of that time period in one's life the transition into adulthood, planning for a future that seems so far away, and life's everyday challenges like finding love and [...]
1st - I received this book in return for my review. 2nd - the book was just ok - it was really missing some things for me - like an ending - like really a reason for going. This lonely guy is the whole moral of the story and not until the end of the book does he make any real decisions. It was written well, and the characters are just ok - but that was it - I just felt the book was just ok. Just kinda wish there was a bit more - an ending of sorts
I received this book in exchange for an honest review. Truthfully, the story didn't hook me in and make me want to keep reading. I love a book that grabs my attention from the beginning and has me not wanting to put it down. For me, unfortunately, this was not one of those books. However, I did enjoy the friendships between Daniel and Eb, and Daniel and Sidney.
Forever Since An Apple is an supberb read, once I started it I couldn't put it down. The author weaves such a compelling story that you feel like you right there in the small town. The Characters were easy to relate too. This book is a must read! Received an Arc for an honest review
I received this book for an honest review. The book was a quick read for me. The end left something to be desired. Which way did Dan go? I enjoyed the journey that landed him where the book began. Dan and Ebs friendship made the book for me.
This book was very different to my normal reads The title really didn't give anything away I love the story slightly weird and wonderful all in one .I did like his I felt Donne etc to the story and if flowed. Nice easy read
Awesome, quick read! Can't wait to read this up and coming authors next novel.
I received this book for a review. This was an excellent book. The author weaves an intriguing story that makes you feel your a part of it. I really liked the characters in the book. Nice easy read.
Loved this read. Ken goes the extra mile to give his characters depth and extremely relatable. Tugged on the nostalgia strings as it brings back all of the old college memories that I loved. Great read with an easy story line. Recommended for all!
Even though the pace of this book was easygoing; I found it pleasant to read, and was wanting to know what happened after the book finished. I got a copy in exchange for an honest review.
(Originally posted on bookmyopia/wordpress)*Note: I received an e-copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*Daniel is just a week away from graduating in Journalism from the Great Lakes University (GLU) located in the fictional town of Wanishing. He and his friend+roomie+GLU-ite Ebner have been working for Campus Telegram, a small-time local newspaper run by GLU folks, over the past one year. Most of their assignments are a mix of mundane and mildly interesting until the [...]
I’m just going to come right out and say it; I HATE REALITY TV….but I think that some reality shows are educational like; Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, Dr. Pol. Pawn Stars, The Apprentice. Basically, if they have a point and have education in the background, I don’t consider them to be reality shows. They’re educational programs to me. Their filming maybe similar to a reality show but still, education is in the background. When you have shows that are on the air to simply show of [...]
Daniel Evart is a news photographer transitioning from a job at his college newspaper to a job at a local paper in his hometown. Over the summer, he goes through several life altering changes - his best friend leaves town to become a star on a reality show, the girl he secretly pines over leaves town to travel with her rock star boyfriend and someone close to him passes away. These events force Daniel to go on a journey of self-reflection about where he is in his life and where he ultimately wan [...]
