3.5 - 4 ★'s Well, I'd like to say that I liked this book as much as the first one but sadly, that wasn't the case. And you'd think it would be especially with Phil and Kenna finally getting to be together! This book starts where Over The Hills and Far Away ended and it wasn't a very good place. We are getting to see glimpses of Phil's dark side and it isn't very pretty. I was actually taken back by what he did to Kenna, his Baby Girl. There were a lot of things in this book that I liked and di [...]
To begin, let me state, you MUST read Over the Hills and Far Away before even picking this beauty up! That is where you will meet Kenna MacGregor and Phil Deveraux and you will fall into a cosmic world of music, emotion and soul stealing love brought by the talented Kelli Jean.No Quarter is book 2 in a 3 book series, Nola’s Own. I became a fan of this author when book 1 ended. I was completely held captive by the beauty of the tale, by a love that was greater than the universe, but the fast/fo [...]
Where do I even begin? How can I possibly explain to you how much this story touched me? I thought this would be a great book, but my goodness, I never dreamed this story would make me FEEL so deeply or CHANGE me so irrevocably. What do you, as a reader, ask from a book or an author? I personally ask for a book to make me FEEL, not just feel, but to FEEL down deep, where that feeling touches parts inside of me that is hard to forget. I don’t care what emotion a book makes me feel, I just want [...]
No Quarter is LIVE!!! 5 Madman Stars!!I need you more that my next breath, you're my other half, my reason for existin' at all."What a completely heart stealing continuation to this series I am in total awe of Kelli Jean’s ability to suck me in to a story and make me just want to stay there She has created not only an amazing couple in Phil and Kenna, but also their circle of family and friends. Each character brings something extra to the story and I felt like I would just love to sit and han [...]
No Quarter begins right where Over the Hills and Far Away leaves off. We are brought back to all the pain and heartbreak. Phil must find a way to earn Kenna's forgiveness. What I loved:*Told from a dual POV*Great steam*I love when an author can break you down and lift you back up within a couple pages*Very easy story flow*The originality of the story*Phil. Who doesn't love a crazy alpha male?*Kenna. Love the woman she's has grown into.*The secondary cast*Most importantly- the love Phil and Kenna [...]
*ARC provided by the author for an honest review*IT'S LIVE!!! smileazon/dp/B00Z8A4RH4 No Quarter is PART TWO of the NOLA's OWN series. If you have not read book 1, Over the Hills and Far Away, #1-- I HIGHLY recommend it & #2-- Do not read this until you do. Now, on to my reviewHave you ever had a crush on a musician? Of course you have I'm sure we all have. At some point in our lives we've stared at someone's poster, we've watched a music video, we've seen someone perform and their music, th [...]
Phil and Kenna’s romance continues in a steamy unfolding of heartfelt moments, mischief, and witty banter. This is an evolution of friendships, an exploration of intimacy, and a cultivation of trust as the main characters mature into their relationship. There’s a little drama, a lot of panty-blazing sex, and a belly full of laughs. It’s fun to watch these characters interact, having come so far since the beginning of the first book. It’s written so expressively you’ll feel embedded in t [...]
First time: 6/4/15Re-read: 1/30/17____________________________________+++ 6 ‘DARK GOD OF THE UNIVERSE' STARS! +++“I need you more than my next breath. You’re my reason for existin’ at all.”Kelli Jean has once again managed to transport me into my happy place. I never thought it was humanly possible to love a character more than I already did but it happened. My love for Phil Deveraux has expanded immensely! You get a front and center seat to a more soft and vulnerable side of Phil in t [...]
WowTrying to find the right words for this review has been difficult ese NOLA's OWN books aren't quite like anything I've read They are uniquecaptivating funnytearful d truly beautifulThese characters will bring you through a whole range of emotions and leave you wanting more "You think I'm a genius?" "Of course I do. You have the power to make my soul sing." We get to know some of the other characters better in this second book and dig deeper into Phil and Kennawho have almost an "unworldly" co [...]
This series is wild! I'm absolutely in love and in-jealous with the author's writing. I love Kelli's unique voice. This series is a beautiful tale of love that is 'meant to be' and transcends time and space. Kenna is such a wonderfully confident character and Phil is your typical broken alpha but with a certain likeability that I haven't seen before. The songs and the band are fabulous, too. I want to know about ALL the characters and I want to actually hear these songs. I really recommend this [...]
ThisI don't even know what to say. This book, this series, the author. I'm in LOVE!!! I am so sad it ended. I can't wait for the next one!! Kelli, I swear I would marry you if you give me the chance!
Thank goodness I happened to cross paths with Kelli Jean and her amazing work not only do you read her beautifully written work but you also live, breathe and feel how the love story plays out. Following on from over the hills and far away you really get to touch into the depths in which love can make you feel and how you wished you could jump in the book and get lost in the whole romance as it unveils. I loved Kenna and phil from the previous book but this is where it gets gritty, deep and dark a [...]

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of No Quarter in exchange for my honest opinion. Well my opinion is BUY THIS BOOK!!!! If you haven't read Over the Hills and Far Away you NEED to read that to get yourself all caught up in one of the BEST rocker series I've EVER read!! Phil is BEYOND AWESOME!!! Words can't describe how much I LOVED him. And Kenna? Never have I felt so connected to a character in my life. From start to finish I was so involved in this story, that all I wanted to do was read. S [...]
Though I kind ox expected to be bored while reading this book because I thought the first one was long enough to cover the story, I actually enjoyed it a lot. That doesn't mean I'm really eager to red the third one. while I really loved the first book, had a few doubts about the second one, I'm kind of ready for this couple to find their HEA. Still I'm pretty impressed by this author.
Review to comeI'm still going! TSRTS is up next and I'm beyond excited!!
I don't know why I thought I'd already posted a review here and on the blog. In Patti's Imagination participated in the cover reveal and I thought we'd done the tour. Nope. Life has been a bit insane this past year. The fact that my review for No Quarter is coming on the heels of reading The Song Remains the Same (book 3) merely reflects my schedule. To the review!A continuation of where Over the Hills and Far Away left off, if you were devastated by that ending, fear not. Kelli brings you aroun [...]
4 stars.Book 2 in NOLA's Own series. This instalment in the Kenna & Phil saga was hilariously funny. I wet my panties at more than one point in this book. (Seriously I p'd a little bit!)This book, like the first one, had a great storyline and amazing characterization. This author is superb at pulling you into the minds of K and P. This is NOT a standalone so please read 'Over the Hills and Far Away' first. That being said, please DO read it because it was amazing.
5 HOT stars I'm absolutely loving this series.I'm so happy that I won a copy of this book.It was HOT and very addictive Cannot wait till book 3 comes out :)
Sigh!!! Love this book:)
No Quarter by Kelli Jean is the 2nd book in the NOLA's Own series and just like the first one I LOVED IT!!! I couldn't put it down except for when I absolutely had to. This book made me run through all the emotions from start to finish. Kenna and Phil have a turbulent relationship that is really meant to be. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to punch a certain swiss girl in the face as if she were a real person, and I felt the love and devotion these characters felt. Kelli really knows how to make he [...]
Best part for me was the can-do heroine and her best friends, as well as the close tie to music. Worth listening to Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy album while reading all the book in the series- you will appreciate the book titles much more, as well as some of the plot beats and the lyric's of NOLA's Junk songs.
I don't know what to say right now. I read this book a few days ago and I am speechless. This book was more complex. More compelling, more captivating than the last. There is so much that goes on that I can't even try to explain it to you, so I'm not. I'm not going to tell you anything about this book, except that you need to read it.There is so much emotion, so much heart ache, so much love, so much of just everything. All the characters love so deeply. It's not a group of friends, it's a famil [...]
I have not laughed so hard that my shoulders hurt, my sides hurt, my asthma kicked in because I was laughing so hard. The part at just before I hit 1/4 of the book that really did it was when the girls came home from eating out at Lili's boyfriend's restaurant. The band is down in the new sound proof recording booth area, everyone bundled up in sweatshirts and such except for Flipper. If you want to know EXACTLY what happened with Flipper that had the girls all on the floor laughing their backsid [...]
Storyline: 5Angst: 4Tissue: 0Value: 5Panty Scorching: 5Over All Rating: 4.5 StarsKindle eArc reviewed by RobinThe story continues for Kenna and Phil. Kenna starts to learn more about what Phil went through during their separation. Is she strong enough to heal Phil’s soul? It hit me har [...]
OK! So this book was pretty good, not as great as the first one but good none the less. I got a little frustrated at the couple because apparently they have the memory of rabbits. If you get in a fight and your behaviour is ABC, when your partner has issues with ABC - you realize you need to change ABC and do so. But apparently in this world after you realize ABC is problematic for your relationship you don't fucking do anything. You react the same way, they react the same way, you get into the [...]
No Quarter, the second in the NOLA's Own series (Over the Hills and Far Away MUST be read first as this is a continuation) is an emotional story that touched me deep within. At times it was heart-wrenching and had me on the verge of tears and at others, it had me laughing in hysterics. Kelli Jean infuses this incredible roller coaster ride with side splitting humor that will leave you snorting and gasping for breath. Seriously, some parts were absolutely hilarious! But the serious parts will tou [...]
No Quarter is the 2nd book in the NOLA's Own Series and starts where "Over the hills and far away" ends so you definitaly have to read the 1st book.In this book we see the sweet, fun loving and very domineering Phil he wants to spend every moment with Kenna which is what she wants too but still kinda freaks her out because she is vey independent I love when Phil meets Kenna Da for the first time. Kelli Jean not only tells the love story of Phil and Kenna but you she tells the stories of Kenna's [...]
