I liked the previous books in these series, so I bought this one, even though the blurb didn't inspire me much, because I'm not a fan of MCs questioning commitment to each other. And relationship-wise it turned out to be a disappointment to me :/(view spoiler)[Liam leaned against the chest of drawers. “I spoke to Louis today. It looks like he and Hassam might be moving to Nice.”“Really? Why?”“He’s been offered a transfer to the consulate there. And Hassam’s firm is opening an offic [...]

Made it to 8% then I sawthis review . I had the same opinion with the reviewer. It is not my thing. Maybe the story is good, but the idea, just the mere thought/mention of the idea, makes me very upset. So I'm quitting this series.

Review posted at The Armchair Reader.3.5 starsWhat a wonderful surprise for me to find another Aidan and Liam book out! For some reason, I thought that after book four, Olives for the Stranger that the series was finished, so getting a new book and the possibility of even more after this (it sure seems like it) makes me so happy! Liam and Aidan are a couple that I've kept with since I read their first book Three Wrong Turns in the Desert several years ago. Each book is heavy on action/adventure [...]

Review posted on World of Diversity Fiction ReviewsThis is my first time reading anything from Neil Plakcy and it seems it’s become a habit of mine lately to read the last or the latest of a series first. In this case it didn’t affect my enjoyment of this book it can be read as standalone but reading from book one on would have given me more background of the MC’s. Is this story a romance? I’d have to say no, at least it’s not between the MC’s it’s more a love story, the romance ha [...]

I am a huge fan of Neil Plakcy's "Mahu" series. But Aiden Greene and Liam McCullough run a good strong second. I have loved following them around the north African desert; but I was very much looking forward to our bodyguard boys moving to the south of France, because the Tunisian sands was getting a little too hot for me, too.Aiden, the runaway schoolteacher from Philadelphia, and Liam, the highly controlled ex-Navy SEAL, make an unlikely duo if there ever was one. But the relationship that sta [...]
